Freda Sack has a passion for letterforms and likes 'making things happen' especially in the typographic world. She originally studied typography at Maidstone College of Art, School of Printing. An increasing interest in the letters that carry the information lead to her career as a type designer. After working for various font manufacturers, and being involved with the rapidly changing font technology, she co-founded The Foundry in 1990 with David Quay to develop their own exclusive typefaces. Since 2000 she has run her own company Foundry Types Ltd, managing The Foundry library, and working to commission. She is co-designer of The Foundry™ typeface library. Commissioned typefaces, amongst others, include: WWF, NatWest Bank, Cossette, Yellow Pages (awarded a D&AD Silver), Swiss Airlines, Brunel signage for UK mainline railway stations, Lisbon Metro fonts.
