| AdminHistory | Viz magazine is a British comic magazine founded in 1979 by Chris Donald. It parodies British comics of the post-war period, notably The Beano and The Dandy, but with black comedy. It also sends up tabloid newspapers, with mockeries of articles and letter pages. It features parody comeptitions and satirises current events and politicians.
Roger Mellie ("The Man on the Telly") is a fictional character featured in Viz magazine, created by Barney Farmer and Lee Healey. His character first appeared in Issue 6 in July 1981.
Viz: The Documentary was released on TV on 4th May 1990, and was a documentary about the magazine Viz. Directed by Philip Morrow, it included a cast of Keith Chegwin, Chris Donald, Simon Donald, Harry Enfield and Michael Palin.
